CALL ON YOUR GOVERNMENT TO BAN BOTTOM TRAWLING IN EU AND UK MARINE PROTECTED AREAS
Bottom trawling is damaging marine protected areas across EU and UK seas, contradicting their designation, threatening marine wildlife, deepening the climate crisis and impacting food security and economic resilience for billions of people – especially Indigenous Peoples and coastal communities.
By raising our voices together, we can demonstrate public demand for immediate action to protect the ocean.

30×30 policy priorities
30×30 is a global target to protect and conserve at least 30% of the world’s land, freshwater and ocean by 2030, adopted under the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework in 2022.
30×30 is the most ambitious conservation commitment ever made, but the science is clear: it is our only opportunity to safeguard the ocean’s biodiversity and the communities that depend on it. Achieving 30×30 will also help preserve the ocean’s ability to act as our greatest ally against the climate crisis.
